GET RID OF HERPES WITH THESE EFFECTIVE AND PREVENTIVE MEASURES

The herpes simplex virus, also called as HSV, is an infection that leads towards a condition called ”herpes”. Herpes can occur in most of the parts of the body, usually the mouth or the genitals. There are mainly two types of the herpes simplex virus:

HSV-1: This is also known as oral herpes. It causes fever blisters and cold sores around the mouth or the face.
HSV-2: This type is mainly responsible for the outbreak of herpes on the genitals.

What leads towards the herpes simplex?
It is a contagious virus that can be transferred from one individual to another through direct contact. Children generally contract HSV-1 from early contact with an infected adult person. They may carry the virus along with them for the rest of their lives.

HSV-1
You may get infected with the HSV-1 virus from some interactions like:

  • Sharing the lip balm
  • Kissing
  • Eating from the same utensils

HSV-2
An individual may get infected with the HSV-2 virus if he/she makes a sexual contact with the person suffering from HSV-2.

Who is at a higher risk?
There is no specific age to get infected with the virus. It all depends on your exposure to the infection. In case of sexually transmitted HSV, an individual is at a higher risk to get infected when he/she participates in a sexual activity without making the use of a protection, for instance, condoms. Other risk factors may be:

  • Having sex at a younger age
  • Having sex with multiple partners
  • Having a weak immune system.

If a pregnant woman is infected with the virus, chances are that the baby can be exposed to both types of HSV; and this may lead towards serious complications.

A person may notice symptoms that are similar to that of flu:

  • swollen lymph nodes
  • high fever
  • tiredness
  • headache
  • lack of appetite
  • pain during urination(genital herpes)

Herpes may also spread in the eyes, leading towards a condition called herpes keratitis. This may in turn cause symptoms like gritty feeling in the eye, eye pain, and discharge.

How is it diagnosed?
Herpes is generally diagnosed through a physical exam. The doctor will check for the sores in the body and ask about some of the symptoms that you may have. Blood tests for HSV-1 & 2 may also help in diagnosing the infections. This is usually done when there are no sores present.

Treatment of Herpes
There is no cure for this virus at present. The treatment focuses on eliminating the sores and limiting the outbreaks.

How to avoid getting infected from the virus?

  • Try to avoid direct physical contact with a person suffering from HSV virus.
  • If you are the one who has contracted the virus, avoid sharing of food and items, and your personal hygiene products like towel, cups, lip-balm, clothes, or even makeup.
  • Do not kiss or have oral sex or any type of sexual activity during an outbreak.
  • Use condoms when you have sex

Some individuals find that being tired, stressed out, friction against the skin, sunbathing might trigger the recurrences of the symptoms. Identifying & avoiding these kinds of triggers can help in reducing the number of recurrences.

A WORKING WOMAN’S MANTRA TO MAINTAIN A HAPPY WORK-LIFE BALANCE

Becoming a parent is not an easy task. And being a working mother is more difficult. More mothers than ever are in the workforce. It’s not an easy task to maintain your work life and personal life. But, it all depends on how well you manage this, as it can make a significant difference to your relationship with the family. It has got its plus and minus points to every choice that you make.

If you are employed full-time or part-time, you may:

Have a better and higher standard of living and have fewer money problems
Also, have a life outside the home with friends and office employees
Feel pleased from within that you too are making a contribution in the family and in turn have more self-esteem.
On the other hand, you may also feel:

Disconnected from your family members and kids
Overwhelmed with too much pressure of work
Resentful of how much you have to do around the house
Too busy or tired to enjoy the social life
Now, if you are a new working mom and are in confusion to deal with the work life and personal life balance; here are certain tips for you to manage this situation:

First, get relaxed when you come home: When you enter the house, just forget everything that you did in the office, your fight with the manager/colleague, just leave everything aside. You can also take a ten-minute shower before you sit with your children. Always portray a happy face and mood in front of your kids. This makes them relaxed and they feel happy with you and have no complaints, even if you are there with them for just 30 minutes a day.

Make sure to dine with your children: For working women, dinner is the best time to get connected with the children. They can have a conversation with them about their day and just listen to them. This makes them feel contented. You also feel there’s still a connection and your kid has not forgotten you yet.

Enjoy the bedtime with your kid: A kid finds the safest place in her mother’s arms. You will also feel relaxed when you have your kid by your side. You can tell them a story until they sleep or just talk and have some happy moments.

Your soul-mate needs you too: Your partner is the best person in your life, who has helped you in your odd times. He also needs your time and attention. In this chaos, don’t forget him. Have a date night at least once every month. This keeps your relationship alive and you, two can enjoy some time as well.

Remember, even the smallest of changes can make a big difference. Give proper time to your family and kids, slowly they will realize your love and importance and value the relationship more. Spending quality time with children helps the relations become stronger and develop tighter bonds.
